The booking decision
Enchanted Princess occupies a useful middle ground. It has the finished feel of the later Royal Class ships, including WakeView, two Sky Suites and a broad dining programme, yet avoids the additional scale and cabin-category complexity of Sun and Star Princess. For many couples, that is a more comfortable balance than automatically choosing the newest vessel.
There is no compelling reason to pay a large premium over Discovery or Sky Princess for the ship alone. Compare embarkation port, itinerary, cabin position and package price. Enchanted wins when those practical factors align, not because its name implies a unique onboard concept.
Piazza-led layout and public spaces
The multi-level Piazza is the visual and social heart. International Café, bars, music and guest services keep the area active throughout the day. The SeaWalk adds a dramatic glass-floor view, while WakeView creates an attractive aft alternative to the main pool deck.
The layout is legible, but 3,660 guests still create pressure at theatre exits, lifts and buffet entrances. Passengers who value quiet should learn the less obvious routes and use WakeView, the Sanctuary or lounges outside programmed events. Cabin location matters on a 330-metre ship.
Cabins and the value of a mini-suite
The 1,830 staterooms include a large balcony inventory, 374 mini-suites and 44 suites. Standard balcony rooms provide the essential outdoor space but limited indoor seating. Mini-suites add a sofa, more floor area and a better separation between sleeping and sitting zones, which is valuable on longer Mediterranean or transatlantic itineraries.
Sky Suites are designed for larger groups and have enormous balconies, but their position near active upper-deck venues requires a different tolerance for noise and exposure. The safest mainstream choice is a midship balcony or mini-suite buffered by cabins above and below.
Dining and package value
Enchanted combines three main dining rooms with Gigi’s Pizzeria, World Fresh Marketplace, International Café, casual deck food and specialty venues including Crown Grill, Sabatini’s and Bistro Sur La Mer. The programme is broad enough for a two-week cruise without becoming difficult to understand.
Premier can look attractive because the ship has several specialty options, but reservations and preferred dining times remain finite. A package entitlement is not the same as guaranteed access to every venue at the ideal hour. Book priority meals early and value the package across drinks, Wi-Fi and crew appreciation as well as dining.
Mediterranean and Caribbean fit
The ship is well suited to warm-weather routes because WakeView, SeaWalk, pools and balcony accommodation reward time outside. In the Mediterranean, long port days can make a large dining and entertainment inventory less important. In the Caribbean, the ship itself plays a bigger role and pool-deck demand increases.
British travellers should compare flights and hotel nights with a Southampton sailing on Sky Princess. Enchanted can offer a better itinerary and warmer start, but fly-cruise complexity is a real part of the booking decision.
Families, couples and quieter time
Children’s clubs cover three age bands and the pool deck supports family activity, but the ship does not compete through slides or amusement hardware. It suits families whose children use organised clubs and enjoy films, pools and shore days.
Couples are arguably the natural audience. The Sanctuary, Retreat Pool, Enclave, Crooners, specialty dining and live entertainment create an adult holiday without making families feel unwelcome. Sailing date affects the balance more than the ship name.
Before you book Enchanted Princess
- Compare it directly with Discovery and Sky Princess rather than assuming the newest available Royal Class ship is best.
- Choose a cabin protected from pool, buffet and theatre noise.
- Reserve priority specialty meals early even when Premier includes them.
- Include flights, hotel nights and transfers when comparing a Mediterranean fly-cruise with Southampton.
