Majestic Princess is now one of the most interesting Royal Class choices because its Asia-market heritage, enclosed Hollywood Conservatory and substantial 2025 refurbishment distinguish it from its sisters. The refit improves dining and social spaces, but the ship still carries design differences that should be chosen deliberately rather than treated as a standard Sky Princess substitute.

The booking decision

Majestic Princess should be judged as a post-2025 ship. The Palermo drydock added O’Malley’s Irish Pub, Sabatini’s Italian Trattoria, Alfredo’s Slice, Salty Dog Café, Ocean Terrace Sushi Bar, Bellini’s and other changes. Reviews and tours filmed before April 2025 no longer describe the dining and social map accurately.

The ship’s original Asian-market design still matters. Hollywood Conservatory is a valuable enclosed observation and relaxation space, particularly in Alaska or cooler weather. Some venue identities and circulation patterns differ from later sisters. Choose Majestic when those differences help the itinerary, not as an interchangeable Royal Class placeholder.

What the 2025 refurbishment changed

The drydock was more than a cosmetic refresh. Several restaurants and bars were relocated or renamed, bringing Majestic closer to the contemporary Princess fleet. O’Malley’s replaced Vines, Sabatini’s replaced Harmony, Good Spirits replaced Piazza Bar and Ocean Terrace became a sushi venue. These changes improve familiarity for repeat Princess passengers.

They also make older online material unreliable. Cabin structure, ship scale and core circulation remain from 2017, while the dining map is newer. Use the current official deck plan and ship page when reserving venues or choosing a cabin near a specific space.

Hollywood Conservatory and layout

Hollywood Conservatory is Majestic’s clearest point of difference. The enclosed forward space provides sea views, seating and weather protection without requiring a paid Sanctuary booking. It can be one of the best public rooms in Alaska and on cool sea days.

Elsewhere, the ship follows the Royal Class pattern with Piazza, Princess Theatre, Princess Live!, Vista Lounge and large upper decks. At 3,560 guests, peak lift and buffet demand remains real. The conservatory adds valuable capacity but does not turn the ship into a small or quiet vessel.

Cabins and balcony value

The official inventory lists 1,780 staterooms and 38 wheelchair-accessible cabins. Balcony accommodation dominates, which works well on scenic routes. Standard balcony rooms remain compact indoors; mini-suites provide a better living area and are easier for longer cruises.

Majestic’s ship-specific deck plan matters because some online Royal Class cabin advice assumes a sister with different nearby venues. Check noise, lift distance, overhang and public-space adjacency. A protected midship mini-suite is the safest broad recommendation when budget allows.

Dining after the refit

The 2025 changes materially strengthen dining. Crown Grill, Sabatini’s, Ocean Terrace Sushi Bar, O’Malley’s, main dining rooms, buffet, International Café and casual deck venues provide a more recognisable Princess mix than the original configuration.

Package value improves when the passenger will use several paid venues, but reservations remain limited. Premier does not remove the need to book. Passengers who mainly want included dining should not let the new venue list push them into a package that exceeds realistic consumption.

Families, adults and weather resilience

Youth clubs cover ages 3 to 17 and the ship provides pools, films and organised activities. It is suitable for multigenerational cruising, although attraction-driven children may find it restrained beside Royal Caribbean.

Adults benefit from the Sanctuary, Enclave, Hollywood Conservatory, refreshed bars and traditional lounges. The enclosed conservatory makes Majestic especially resilient in poor weather. That is a meaningful booking advantage rather than a decorative difference.

Ignore pre-April 2025 dining maps and ship tours when making current decisions.
Use Hollywood Conservatory as a reason to choose the ship on scenic or cool-weather routes.
Check the exact deck plan because Royal Class sister advice is not always transferable.
