Passengers assuming the newest ship eliminates the fleet’s compact cabins and pool limitations.
Brilliant Lady is the one Virgin Voyages ship whose operating role materially changes the fleet choice. She entered service in 2025 and was adapted for North American itineraries that include the Panama Canal, the West Coast and Alaska, while preserving the familiar Lady Ship restaurants, cabins and adult-only atmosphere.
The official Brilliant Lady page describes routes from New York through the Caribbean and Panama to Los Angeles, Mexico, Seattle, Alaska and Canada. For many passengers, the destination – not the ship’s newest status – is the decisive reason to book.
Designed for a different map
Brilliant Lady’s modified profile and lifeboat arrangement allow her to use the newer Panama Canal locks. That engineering decision opened itineraries the original three Lady Ships were not designed around.
Her 2026 Alaska programme adds scenic cruising, cooler weather and longer destination days to a brand associated with warm-weather nightlife. Outdoor spaces have been adjusted to improve outward views, including changes around the Athletic Club and social areas.
Alaska changes how the ship is used
Virgin states that 86% of Brilliant Lady cabins have balconies, most with the red hammock. In Alaska that balcony becomes a viewing platform rather than simply a sunbathing space.
The Galley’s large windows, outdoor daybeds and running track also take on a scenic role. The small main pool matters less in cool weather, although passengers wanting an indoor pool will still not find one.
The adult-only environment distinguishes Brilliant Lady from family-heavy Alaska ships, but excursions, warm clothing and travel to Seattle or Vancouver can make the total holiday considerably more expensive than the headline fare.
Rojo and new entertainment
Brilliant Lady replaces the familiar evening identity of Razzle Dazzle with Rojo by Razzle Dazzle, a Spanish-influenced restaurant using tapas, larger shared plates and wine-led flavours.
New entertainment includes ship-specific productions and interactive shows. This makes Brilliant the most interesting choice for repeat Virgin Sailors, although much of the restaurant and cabin experience remains recognisably shared with the fleet.
Cabins remain Lady Ship cabins
The newest ship does not introduce a wholly new cabin generation. Sea Terrace rooms retain the hammock, tablet controls, compact bathroom and flexible bed arrangement familiar from the original ships.
Choose by view, deck and itinerary. An Alaska balcony can justify more spending than an inside room because scenery may appear at any time, while a Panama or Mexican Riviera voyage may put greater value on shade and location.
Solo Insider and Solo Sea View cabins remain important. RockStar suites add space and priority access, but the destination costs can make a well-positioned Sea Terrace the more balanced purchase.
Who should choose Brilliant Lady?
Choose Brilliant Lady for Alaska, the Panama Canal, the West Coast, Mexico or the newest entertainment and dining changes. She is the fleet’s most destination-distinct ship.
Do not choose her merely because “newest” sounds safest. The basic Lady Ship strengths and weaknesses remain: excellent included dining, adult energy, compact cabins, a small pool and heavy reliance on the app.
CruisePing would pay more for Brilliant Lady when her route cannot be replicated by a sister ship, not for a conventional Caribbean voyage available at a better price elsewhere in the fleet.
