Choose Valiant for the itinerary and Ariya; otherwise compare the near-identical sisters by price.

Best suited to
UK and European passengers prioritising Portsmouth, Mediterranean or northern itineraries.
Think carefully if
Passengers expecting significant hardware differences from Scarlet or Resilient Lady.
Valiant Lady is the most useful Virgin ship for many UK and European passengers because her programme has included Mediterranean, Portsmouth, northern European, Greenland and New York sailings. Her underlying design is almost identical to Scarlet and Resilient Lady, so route and departure convenience matter more than small hardware differences.
The official Valiant Lady page highlights Ariya by Razzle Dazzle and a changing entertainment programme as the clearest onboard distinctions.
Ariya gives Razzle Dazzle a different evening identity
Ariya changes the flexible Razzle Dazzle venue into a Persian-influenced dinner experience. It is a real point of difference for repeat Virgin Sailors, though it does not outweigh a materially better itinerary on a sister ship.
The remaining major restaurants follow the familiar Lady Ship pattern, with The Wake, Extra Virgin, Gunbae, Pink Agave, Test Kitchen and The Galley included.
Cabins and public spaces are sister-ship familiar
Sea Terrace cabins, red hammocks, tablet controls, compact bathrooms and convertible beds mirror Scarlet Lady. Repeat passengers can choose the room with confidence; first-timers should read the deck plan rather than assume a recent ship means a large cabin.
The pool remains small and the ship’s strongest outdoor areas are lounging, fitness and social spaces. This is especially important on warm Mediterranean sea days.
Why UK and European deployment matters
A Portsmouth departure can remove a flight for British passengers while retaining the Virgin product. Northern European and Greenland itineraries also provide a different setting for ships more often associated with warm-weather parties.
The line’s outdoor-heavy brand can feel different in cool or wet weather, but restaurants, fitness, live entertainment and social spaces give the ship enough indoor life for destination-led voyages.
Who should choose Valiant Lady?
Choose Valiant Lady when the Mediterranean, Portsmouth, northern Europe or transatlantic itinerary is best. Ariya is a useful bonus, not the primary reason to accept a weaker route.
CruisePing would not invent a major ranking difference between Valiant and Resilient Lady. They are close sisters; price, flights, voyage length and ports should decide.
