Scarlet Lady is the original Virgin Voyages ship and still the clearest introduction to the brand. She established the adults-only, restaurant-led, app-driven model that her sisters largely repeat, then received a substantial refresh that brought new suites, public-space updates and a revised Razzle Dazzle concept.
The official Scarlet Lady page positions her across Caribbean, European and transatlantic voyages. The best reason to choose her is not that she is physically different from the other Lady Ships; it is that she combines the most established onboard culture with a broad itinerary programme.
The classic Virgin experience, refined
Scarlet Lady carries the original versions of The Wake, Extra Virgin, Pink Agave, Gunbae, Test Kitchen, The Galley, The Dock, Manor and Athletic Club. Passengers receive the full Virgin formula without learning which ideas were later adapted for a new region.
Her refresh improved suites, cabanas, spa and casino areas and introduced Lucky Lotus by Razzle Dazzle. These changes make the ship feel current without pretending that the cabin shell, pool size or fundamental layout has changed.
Dining: Lucky Lotus is the clearest distinction
Lucky Lotus gives Scarlet Lady an Asian-influenced evening identity in the Razzle Dazzle space. The rest of the restaurant line-up is shared closely with her sisters.
Dining reservations remain important. The ship’s popularity on shorter Caribbean voyages can concentrate demand into a small number of evenings. Flexible Sailors can use The Galley, Pizza Place and walk-up availability; passengers determined to eat everywhere need to book early.
Cabins and the best-value choice
Most passengers should begin with a Sea Terrace. The hammock, private outdoor space and natural light materially improve the cabin, while the standard room remains compact enough that an inside cabin can feel enclosed on a longer voyage.
Solo Insider and Solo Sea View rooms are useful for single travellers. RockStar suites add privileges and larger living space, but the inclusive restaurant model means suite passengers do not receive a separate luxury ship within the ship.
Avoid paying for a category name without checking deck position. Noise from The Manor, pool deck and late-night venues can matter more than a small difference in room size.
Pool and entertainment
Scarlet Lady’s main pool is small. It works as a social centre and place to cool off, not as a resort swimming complex. Hot Caribbean sea days expose this limitation most clearly.
Scarlet Night, The Manor, live music, comedy and flexible performance spaces create a strong evening identity. The ship suits passengers who will move between venues rather than wait for one conventional theatre show.

Choose Scarlet Lady for a first Virgin voyage, a refreshed version of the original product and itineraries that combine Caribbean, Europe and repositioning.
Choose Brilliant Lady instead when Alaska, Panama or the West Coast is the point of the holiday. Choose Valiant or Resilient when their route or current dining and entertainment details are more attractive.
